Born in Macon, Ga. Hap began playing the Bass in 1967, and has been on the Atlanta Music scene ever sense. Before joining the Ratz in 2004, Hap's has played in such groups as The Younguns, Micropolis, Hydra, Tupelo, The Wayne Bruce Band, Tommy Roe, Footloose, Peachtree Posse, Gordon Dee and Pure Ivory and also backed up race driver Kyle Petty.

Hap has opened for Hank Williams Jr., Tanya Tucker, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Judds, George Strait, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Daniels, Tony Joe White, Mel Tillis, and John Anderson

Along with solid bass playing is Hap's vocal talent. His strong high lead vocals and smooth harmonies add a new variety to the Ratz sound.

Hap is also songwriter and wrote a number of songs on the Ratz album.
