Who is Butch Lawson? Good question…
Butch grew up in the southern foothills of the Appalachian
Mountains. He started playing guitar semi-professionally with local groups in the north Georgia area, when he was 15 years old.
At 6' 8", (4 inches taller then Charles) Butch started his
music career in 1987 with a
South Georgia band, “Savanna”, playing all over
the U.S. and Canada.
He has since played with many Georgia groups over the last
decade and a half such as, “Fort Mountain”, “Borderline”,
“Train-wreck” and “Loose Change”.
Butch's passions are composing, songwriting, and recording.
His influences are ZZ Top, Allman Brothers Band,
Eagles,Littlefeat, and many others.
Butch has shared the stage with such national artists as:
George Jones, Mark Chestnut, T. Graham Brown, Percy Sledge, Ronnie Milsap, Earl Thomas Connley, Travis Tritt,
and many more.
Butch's philosophy is live and let live, follow the
“Golden Rule” and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. His has an
edgy blues style, but is well versed in many genres;
lucky number 7 for the “Ratz”.
